Turn any short video clip into an animated GIF — trim to the exact moment, crop the frame, resize for the destination, and control the size-vs-quality trade-off. Great for Slack reactions, documentation walk-throughs, product demos, and anywhere that embeds GIF but not video. Runs in your browser using FFmpeg, so your videos never touch a server.

Why GIF when MP4 exists?

MP4 is smaller and higher quality, but plenty of places still only embed GIFs reliably — Slack messages, GitHub READMEs, some email clients, older CMS platforms, Jira tickets. A GIF also auto-plays silently on loop without any 'click to play' overlay, which is why they dominate in docs and support contexts. For anywhere that accepts both, MP4 or WebM is better. For the contexts that don't, a well-made GIF is the right answer.

Controlling size and quality

GIFs are big compared to MP4 because they use a much older compression. Three levers matter most: length (trim tight — 3-5 seconds is the sweet spot), resolution (640x360 or 480x270 for docs, smaller for Slack), and frame rate (12-15 fps is plenty for most content, 24+ is only needed for fast motion). The tool previews the expected file size as you adjust so you can target a specific ceiling like 5MB for a Slack message or 10MB for a GitHub README.

Workflow from capture to share

A clean flow: record the screen or video, drop it in here, trim to the 3-5 second moment that matters, crop to just the relevant UI, resize to 600-800px wide, export. For product demo GIFs going into marketing, also beautify the screenshot frames first if you want device frames in the final animation. For reaction GIFs, you usually just need trim + export.

Common ways people use it

Slack reactions and inside jokes

Turn a 3-second clip from a meeting or an outside video into a team-specific reaction GIF.

Product demos in documentation

GIFs in README files and docs show a feature working in a way static screenshots can not.

Bug reports and support tickets

Record a 5-second repro of a bug as a GIF — every ticketing platform embeds it without plugins.

Marketing and social previews

Short looping product animations for Twitter, LinkedIn, and newsletter previews.
