A signature upload is its own little puzzle. Exam and application portals want it tiny — usually somewhere in the 10–30KB range, with 20KB a common target — and they want it on a clean white background with the ink lines still readable. A photo of a signature straight off your phone is far too big and often too dark at the edges, so it gets rejected.
This tool is tuned for exactly that: upload your scanned or photographed signature and it compresses to around 20KB while protecting the thing that matters — the sharpness of the strokes. Signatures are line art, so they hold up well at small sizes as long as the compression does not smear the edges. Export as JPG if your portal asks for JPG (most do); if it accepts PNG, PNG can keep the lines even crisper for this kind of high-contrast image.
Sign on plain white paper with black or blue ink, and crop tightly to the signature so there is no wasted margin — a tight crop means more of your 20KB goes to the strokes themselves. If your form also needs the signature to be a specific pixel size (often around 140×60px), resize to that first, then compress here. Need to clean up a grey or shadowed background first? Run it through the background remover to get a clean white or transparent backdrop, then come back here to hit the file-size limit.
