Building a Shopify store is hard work. Don't let blurry product photos ruin your conversion rate. Shopify has specific requirements for images, and getting them wrong can lead to slow loading speeds or pixelated zoom.
The Perfect Shopify Size: 2048 x 2048 px
While Shopify allows images up to 4472 x 4472 px, we recommend 2048 x 2048 pixels (Square).
- Why? It's the sweet spot for the "Zoom" feature. Customers can hover over the image to see texture details without the file being massive.
- Minimum: 800 x 800 px (Below this, zoom won't work).
Best Formats
- JPEG: For photographs (models, lifestyle shots). It offers the best color with small file sizes.
- PNG: Use ONLY if you need a transparent background. Otherwise, it makes the page load slower.
- WebP: Shopify now supports WebP, which is even faster.
How to Bulk Process Your Inventory
If you have 50 product photos from your supplier, resizing them one by one is a nightmare.
- Open our Batch Editor.
- Drag & Drop all 50 images.
- Select the "Shopify" Preset.
- This automatically sets the width to 2048px.
- It converts them to High-Quality JPEG (85%).
- Click Process All.
- Download your optimized catalog in seconds.
